16 July 2019 | 18 July 2019

as part of the Singapore-IEA Regional Training Hub

Energy Market Authority of Singapore (EMA) and the International Energy Agency (IEA)

The Energy Market Authority of Singapore (EMA) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) are pleased to announce a specialised training programme on Green Buildings in Singapore from 16 to 18 July 2019, under the Singapore-IEA Regional Training Hub.  This three-day course aims to build capacity among policy makers, academics, buildings designers and the construction industry from Southeast Asia to establish the path towards a low-emission, efficient and resilient buildings and construction sector by 2050.

The training will offer a mix of lectures, interactive discussions, practical exercises and a site visit that will allow participants to learn from international best practices and each other. Following the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction’s methodology for the development of building sector Roadmaps, the sessions will explore timelines and target setting, policy and technology approaches, investment and capacity building, as well as the multiple benefits of energy efficiency for both of the following themes:

a)       Building planning and design: including urban planning; new buildings; retrofits; resilience; and materials.

b)      Building systems and operation: including systems for cooling; lighting; water heating; building management and operations; and clean energy.

Please save the date. Registration details and further information will be sent in due course.  Please feel free to share this “save the date” with your contacts in relevant government ministries/agencies as well as your wider network of energy efficiency and green building professionals in Southeast Asia.  The training is free of charge, and some funding support for travel and accommodation is available for eligible participants.
