VENUE: Vienna House Easy Katowice, Ulica Sokolska 24, 40086 Katowice, Poland

To move towards a carbon-free and sustainable future, governments and cities across the globe need to look at the role of ‘Buildings’. Today, at the global level, buildings are responsible for nearly 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions. Today, many of the solutions already exist, which is why the Danish companies VELUX, ROCKWOOL and Danfoss have decided to raise an important agenda on the role of buildings when it comes to solving our global climate challenges. This will be done through a half-day conference during the COP24 in Katowice, Poland, at the Danish shared pavilion. More specifically the conference will focus on buildings in terms of cost, comfort and climate with the subthemes:

Potential of renovation and retrofitting existing buildings
Healthy homes and healthy cities: Importance of indoor-quality, air pollution etc.
Cities: Buildings in major cities, suburbs and rural areas.
Moderation will be done by Natalie Mossin, International Union of Architects. Chair of the Danish Association of Architects and Council Member of UIA. Head Of Institute, Architecture And Technology, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation.
