Main Goals - General activities - field of expertise

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) is responsible for developing and implementing programs on environmental policies, awareness raising activities, and land legislation, with special attention to ethnic minorities. Climate change is a priority for the region and the Ministry is implementing Vietnam’s national strategy on climate change and aims to develop a concrete roadmap on implementing the Paris Climate Agreement and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) in Vietnam. To that end the Ministry will strengthen coordination with other ministries and agencies in implementing climate mitigation targets and develop program on climate change adaptation and on green growth.

Activity related to low GHG and energy consumption and resilient buildings

Energy/climate/buildings-related activities: The Ministry is implementing Vietnam’s national strategy on climate change, including NDCs.
